It may seem like a long way from classical piano to the high-energy jamming of country rock keyboardist, but Steve Masek took his formal early training and technical proficiency into new directions in his teenage years. Inspired by the versatility of great keyboardists such as Bruce Hornsby and Chuck Leavell, Steve began exploring a broad spectrum of contemporary and classic rock to begin perfecting his own style. Along the way, he discovered the music of the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead, among others, and continued perfecting his craft with some of the premiere original and cover bands in Northeast Ohio. In recognition of his exceptional skills and contributions to the music scene, he was named “Best Keyboardist” three years in a row by the Cleveland Free Times newspaper.
Steve is a major part of all three Triple Tribute bands, banging out almost-dizzying featured performances in several of the groups’ blazing-hot, on-your-feet songs.
