Like a lot of bass players, Kenny Marklow started his musical career on a six-string. After 10 years’ doing lead and rhythm, some friends in another band in need of a bass asked him to give it a try. That changed everything. Not only did he fall in love with his new instrument and musical role, the switch opened up new avenues for his own distinctive style and interests, including his first-ever Blues band in 1997. And that experience helped him recognize all the other opportunities to incorporate strong bass-playing into all kinds of other genres and styles, including Allman Brothers music.
Before becoming part of Ted Riser’s Triple Tribute show, Kenny, like all versatile, in-demand musicians, played with dozens of bands, including Just Another Band, Buff & The Hooters, TV Set, The Heroes, Spirit Dance, The Wonder Bros., Free Howie, Synergy, Cleveland Rocks, Kelly Derrick Band, Jukebox Heroes, and Burnt River Band.
